As a DeFi initiative, openness and decentralization of the Ruby Protocol in every possible aspect is the ideal. Ultimately, Ruby will not only run on the decentralized architecture of the SKALE network, but will be managed by the global community of RUBY token holders.
Progress towards this goal will be taken gradually, starting with enabling the community to vote for changes to liquidity mining rewards.
Ruby.Exchange's initial rewards emissions model follows a "thirdening" approach, whereby distribution is reduced by a third every year, and 69% in the final year.
Liquidity Mining EmissionsHowever, the DAO is able to update distribution rates for yield farmers and NFTs, and so can adjust the parameters for rewards if they deem it necessary—for example, due to fluctuating token price and broader market conditions. In the early days of the project, adjustments are more likely to be regular and significant, due to rapid changes in TVL and the RUBY token price.
Over time, as the Ruby economy stabilizes, updates are expected to be required less frequently. As the community grows, responsibility for all Ruby tokenomic decisions, as well as the overall development and maintenance of the platform, will be handed fully to the Ruby DAO.
